Brugge Belgium May 2005

Our Saturday trip to Brugge... We drove approx 1 hour from Brussels to this magical and fairytale like town. It's very beautiful and beyond charming. We had a wonderful day walking through the streets enjoying the food and shops.

The best part of the day was admiring the amazing architecture and grand towers. Brugge is known for it's extraordinary chocolates, beer and handmade lace. Stan and I, not being ones to miss an opportunity for the best of the best indulged in each one...well except for the lace. We enjoyed sampling fine beer and creamy chocolates, but only admired the lace from afar...something to buy next time. Upon arriving into the square, a marching band was just coming around the corner. Stan's convinced they came out just to welcome us, I believed him :)

Before we started our journey around the town we stopped for a bite to eat. We ate at a cute spot in one of the main squares. I cannot recall the name of it, but they did have wonderful food. For the first time I had escargot, yes snails. Save your yucks! It was really good and I would order them again. We spent only a few hours here, but loved it so much that we are already planning another trip back! Hope you enjoy the photos!
