July 2010 A little surf

Yesterday Stan went out for a quick surf, I went along to try and get some photos. It was a small day as far as the waves go, but he had some fun anyway...

July 2010 Paw prints

Things have been moving along slowly here, little by little we accomplish one more task that needs to be done. This was the final week for the guys we had working for us, Antonio and Joele. Great guys, and they did excellent work. The last thing on their list was to pour 3 new stairs at the end of the path. Stan helped and the 3 of them were able to finish it up quickly. Unfortunately Smiley decided to add his extra touch to them.

Stan added his extra touch as well :)

July 2010 and Smiley - Then Stanley

Smiley hanging out on our guests deck. He really is a pack animal and loves to be around the people and the action.

Stan feels very strongly about testing all hammocks after guests check out. We are ALL about quality and safety checks here at Island Path!

July 2010 and LOW on water

Currently we are supposed to be in the rainy season, but it's been very dry, so dry that we have had some concerns about our water supply. We do have two 1,200 gallon tanks for our home and the cabana's. We've decided it's best to add an additional tank, just for the cabana's. This will help in keeping everyone with the appropriate supply. Here are the guys discussing how to get this tank off the truck and half way down the hill to it's final resting spot. It was only moments after I took this photo that they unloaded it, lost their grip and the tank went rolling down the hill. :)

July 2010

It's been a full few weeks, as we've been busy with two different sets of guests coming through. First, 2 gals who were interested in seeing Bocas and the surrounding Islands, and then 4 men surfers, looking to catch some good waves. All of our guests have been Wonderful, so patient, kind and a real pleasure to meet. We took a day trip to Bocas del Drago beach, it's about a 35 minute ride through the jungle on the other side of the island. Small, quiet and very relaxing. Here is a few photos from that area.

This little restaurant, located right on the beach is a great spot to take a break for a cold Balboa and bite to eat after some swimming

Here is a shot of Sea Grapes...Stan says you can eat them, I just thought they looked interesting...hmm...wonder if you can crush them into wine :)

Another beach shot. It was a beautiful day, clear blue skies.
